A more substantial leak found on the internet belongs to Xiaomi’s first Android Redmi Go Edition smartphone. Aptly being referred to as the Redmi Go, this new phone will offer just 1GB of RAM. It is reportedly going to run a lightweight version (GO Edition) of Android 9.0 Pie, offer dual-SIM support, and feature connectivity options such as Bluetooth 4.2 and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. The screen on this handset is likely going to measure under 6-inches.
Xiaomi is ruling the Indian smartphone space especially because of its budget-friendly Redmi phones and which is why the company will definitely look forward to bring the Redmi Go phone to India.
Key specs of the Xiaomi Redmi Go are yet to be revealed, but a recent leak has disclosed some of the specification details of the Android Go phone which will matter to many. According to the leak the Xiaomi Go has been spotted on certification platforms in the US, China, and Russia with the model number M1903C3GG hinting at the global launch of the phone very soon. Some rumours making rounds on the internet suggest that the Xiaomi may launch the Redmi Go in early 2019, possibly soon after the company launches its 48MP phone – which is expected to be the Redmi Pro 2 – in January.
The Redmi Go will be more than a feature phone and lesser than a smartphone. The phone will enable users to browse the internet, message of WhatsApp, check Instagram and Facebook feed too. As of now, there’s no information about the hardware and the battery that will power the phone, but we expect a MediaTek SoC to power the Redmi Go, or a Snapdragon chipset for the entry-level phones that can handle basic games and browsing.
